About 10 years ago I discovered District Nursing. I had been working as a nurse in a hospital and wondered why in the world I had chosen that profession. When I started visiting people in their homes it all changed. I fell in love with that kind of work. I have visited people living in dirty, nasty sheds, without running water. I have seen people living in mansions overlooking a lake. I have spent hours driving around the Swedish countryside, the car getting stuck in the snow, been frustrated at the lack of parking in the city. It's all part of the job, but the reward is meeting all these unique and wonderful people. They all have a story to tell.
I LOVE the show Call The Midwife, and I have loved Jennifer Worth's books even more. They are a wonderful account of this kind of nursing. A welcome bonus is the time period, I love the fashion and the colors. I was really excited to find a pattern for Call The Midwife Bunting on THIS BLOG. My daughter requested it in pink and yellow.
