Busy mother of 3 with a passion for all things crafty. The favourite is crocheting followed by knitting and sewing. A dream is to teach theseforgotten skills to others and in the long run to start projects that can help people in poorer parts of the world to make a living.
Born in a family where crafting is a part of life, I learned how to sew, crochet and knit at an early age. I never thought I was any good at it and didn't do much of it until a fateful visit to Scotland many years ago.
While visiting a family that I know, I got sick and had to spend my holiday in bed. The Mom in the family gave me a book about crochet to help me pass the time. I spent many hours learning different ways of crocheting and caught on pretty quickly. My life was never the same again.
Some years later, I lived with my own family in Jordan. I helped out with a Handicraft Project that helped poor women to make a living. I was amazed at their ability to use the money they made in a creative way and by the impact the work had on them. It created community and gave them skills apart from earning some money for themselves. I started teaching some other women how to crochet, my neighbor lady was one of them, and it got me thinking; maybe one day this could turn into a business.
In 2010 we received the devastating news that our son Miles had Leukemia. He was only 9 months old at the time. We moved back to Sweden and spent several months in the hospital. At this time, crochet, knitting and sewing saved me. It gave me something creative to do during those long, dull hours that never seemed to end. For a moment, my mind was occupied with something else, and it was a lifesaver.
Today my son is doing well and we are continuing to enjoy these crazy years as parents to 3 young children. I have started a little Etsy shop where I sell cute handbags and will also add some crochet patterns as I go along. My dream of helping women to make a living by crafting hasn't come true yet, but I hope it will someday. I hope you will enjoy my blog where I share about my love for tea, crafting and everything else that brings beauty to life!
